OKC MLK Essay and Poster Contest Winners Announced

The 2017 Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Essay and Poster Contest culminated with the Awards Presentation and Reception on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Evangelistic Baptist Church of Christ, located on 3129 N. Martin L. King Ave., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  This year’s theme was “Time for A Change Is Now.”

Members of the Oklahoma City Martin Luther King Jr., Coalition contacted elementary, middle and high schools in various school districts as well as community and religious organizations to invite youth to participate by submitting either a poster or an essay.  We appreciate all the contributions and participation and are proud to announce the following contest winners:

The OKC MLK Coalition congratulates all the participants. You are each making a change.

Each student was presented with a financial reward for their winning entry.   This is an annual event and the OKC MLK Coalition looks forward to following these young people as they effect change in our communities and everyone connected to them.  This event and other sponsored by the OKC MLK Coalition attempts to spotlight the positive achievements and accomplishments of the youth of our community while honoring Dr. King’s legacy.
